JEWELLERY CARE

All of our jewellery is made from either solid gold or sterling silver. This means they'll never fade, rust or turn green (which only happens to poorer quality jewels that are plated, filled and made of base metals).

General care

The best thing about our jewels, is they can come into contact with water or moisture without fear of damage.

However, they are delicate and dainty by nature, so to keep them in optimal condition, we recommend you don't wear your jewels during the following activities:

• Swimming - especially in chlorinated pools as the chemicals can damage the metals and cause accidental breakage or discolouration.
• Exercise/vigorous physical activities
• Sleeping - It is easy for jewellery to fall out, become snagged on hair or sheets and break accidentally.
• Cleaning - Harsh detergents and cleaning agents can damage delicate gemstones as well as the metals.

Tips for caring for your jewels:

• If your jewellery contains any natural gems please take extra care to avoid any harsh cleaning products or ultrasonic cleaners.
• Only use a mild detergent or soap and water.
• Use our polishing cloth on the metal only, not directly on gems.
• Store your jewels in a clean dry place when not wearing.
• Never use toothpaste or a harsh brush when cleaning jewels. Toothpaste contains an abrasive formula which will dull your jewels.

Polishing Cloth

• The polishing cloth you will receive is a special cloth impregnated with an anti-tarnish polishing compound. It is suitable for polishing sterling silver (to remove tarnish) as well as gold.
• Do not wash the cloth in water, keep it nice and dry.
• Do not be alarmed if the cloth shows black marks after polishing your piece. This is a normal reaction between the polishing compound in the cloth and the metal of your jewellery.
• Only polish your piece until it is shiny, there is no need to polish until there are no more black marks as this is not an indication that the piece is clean.
