Called the GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI FEROX, Latin for fierce, the unisex low-top features a thick, chunky tread and a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette. Elevated, lightweight and crafted in a minimal color scheme of black and white, the striking sneaker takes its design cue from the geometric lines of sports cars and airplanes, with a thoughtfully engineered heel and toe. “New year, new sneaker,” says Giuseppe Zanotti. “I wanted to create a clean slate, figuratively and literally—something that would define a new sense of style and create a strong foundation for the year ahead.”

To wit, no detail has been left to chance. Crafted in suede and leather and featuring oversized chenille laces, the GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI FEROX features a subtle stamped logo on the heel and a leather toe cap at its tip. “Sometimes you make the most impact by paring back,” adds Giuseppe Zanotti. “The GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI FEROX, like its name applies, epitomizes the idea of quite strength and pure courage.” Dropping later this month, a second drop will hit this spring and will feature signature Giuseppe Zanotti embellishments, including gold hardware, exotic prints, crystal embroidery and chain details.

MILAN — To celebrate the Lunar New Year with those who like to surround themselves with beauty and symbolic imagery, Giuseppe Zanotti presents a new and exclusive capsule collection marked by the iconic peony flower. The “Forever Bloom” collection offers a special selection of moccasins, sneakers and small leather accessories for men, as well as ballerina pumps, biker boots and jewellery for women.

In black and white, these pieces are embellished with painted peony flowers, one of the most iconic images in China and a recurring feature in Giuseppe Zanotti's creations. “I wanted to create a collection that put a beautiful, modern spin on an ancient Chinese symbol of well-being and prosperity”, says Giuseppe Zanotti “with delicate brush strokes, I decorated the toes of moccasins and ballerina pumps, and boot and sneaker uppers with pink peony flowers”.

The capsule collection will be on sale in Giuseppe Zanotti boutiques and at giuseppezanotti.com from January 2021. Two special shoes—a white biker boot for women and a white Talon trainer for men, both embellished with decorative crystals—will be exclusively available in select Giuseppe Zanotti boutiques in Greater China.

Selected from the archives, “Icons” pieces epitomize the craft, mastery and glamour of Giuseppe Zanotti. Part of the House’s legacy, these stand-out shoes are re-issued with a contemporary twist while staying true to their original aesthetic.

“My approach to design has always been about pushing forward and creating new worlds and fantasies,” says Giuseppe Zanotti. “Yet, at the same time, two decades on, I was compelled to share some of my most revered creations and give the new generation a chance to experience their beauty.” The first style to sneak out of the archives will be the “Venere.” Italian for “Venus,” the knock-out stiletto, which made its debut in the Fall Winter 2012-2013 collection, features a sinuous gold accessory that slithers around the foot like a precious snake. Originally photographed for the Fall 2012 campaign, the provocative stiletto returns in three variants: a black suede sandal with gold hardware, a black and a red suede version with silver hardware.
